What is the main difference between setting tools and inspection tools?
Additional axes, sensors and cameras are available on inspection devices in order to be able to fully measure cutting tools.
Which tools are measured on the ZOLLER machines?
All rotary cutting tools can be measured on the ZOLLER inspection machines. In addition, stationary tools such as indexable inserts can be easily measured according to customer requirements using our special adapters.
Can I connect the inspection devices to a grinding machine?
Absolutely, through the network connection or with a USB stick you can transfer the tool file from measuring devices to the grinding machine, or vice versa. For example, we offer a file interface for many programming systems.
Do I need a lot of time to measure standard tools?
No, our software contains an automatically created program, the ZOLLER »elephant«. With this program, you can easily measure the basic geometries without many settings.
What is the difference between »genius« and »threadCheck«?
ZOLLER »threadCheck« is based on the »genius« structure, but has an additional axis for horizontal swiveling and several special programs for measuring threading tools. The swivel allows the contour of the thread flanks to be correctly focused and measured without distortion.
Can I only measure tools on the inspection devices?
No, you can measure various objects, e.g. grinding wheels or the finished workpiece.
How extensive can the tools be in order to successfully measure them on the ZOLLER machines?
Our inspection devices can be equipped with different cameras at the customer's request. For tool manufacturers, who mostly produce tools larger than 3 mm in diameter, we recommend the standard camera for macro tools. For micro tool manufacturers, we recommend a micro camera for tools with a diameter from 0.4 mm.
Can beginners also quickly mix tools on the inspection devices?
Yes, we can save the measured tools in our z.One database and call them up again at any time. This means that even operators with little experience can call up the saved programs independently. The tool is measured exactly as specified.
Is an air-conditioned room required for the installation?
An air-conditioned room is not required. The device can be installed in a dust-free area in the machine hall.
Are there automation solutions for the »genius series«?
Yes, we can connect an automation system »roboSet 2« to all machines in the »genius« appliance series.
