The digital identity of your tool holders
The ZOLLER »idChip« is a coded chip made of extremely robust plastic, permanently integrated into the tool holder. Its DataMatrix code makes every holder uniquely identifiable – at the presetting and measuring machine, at the shrink fit machine, in the tool storage and at the CNC machine.
This way you always know everything about your tool holders: number of heating cycles, uses on the machine and much more. Product service life, digital twin and further information are available anytime, anywhere – at costs far below those of RFID transponders.
Firmly integrated. Protected in the holder.
The »idChip« sits in the chip bore of the tool holder and is bonded in place with two-component adhesive. Together with the adhesive, the 3-groove technology in the chip bore creates a form fit – for a secure and firm connection. This keeps the chip protected while it remains clearly visible.
On ZOLLER Tooling tool holders with HSK-A hollow shank taper, SK steep taper and PSC polygonal shank taper, the chip bore is standard. It takes the »idChip« or other data carriers such as RFID chips.
Scan once. Know everything.
A single scan of the DataMatrix code is all it takes: the tool is uniquely identified and the associated tool data comes straight from the database. Input errors and mix-ups are a thing of the past.
All you need is a scanner that reads the DataMatrix code and software that manages your tool data. ZOLLER offers both with »zidCode 4.0« and TMS Tool Management Solutions.
In TMS Tool Management Solutions, every holder is managed by its ID. The »idChip« is intended as optional hardware for the »z.Shopfloor« and »z.Connectivity« add-ons.

Tool Heat Shrink Technology
Scan at the »powerShrink«: all shrink parameters are instantly available in the »pilot« software. Every heating cycle is counted per shrink chuck, and warning and wear limits can be stored.

Recommended for turning tools and fixtures that are not used in rotation: the resin-coated label is attached firmly and securely to the tool holder.
